My Grandson, Slade has always been interested in music. Not wanting to feel that I was being prejudiced, I decided to take him to Laura Downs' Studio to see if I was right. He has only been taking lessons for about seven months now and I was right, he does have musical talent. He is now reading music and playing the songs without looking at the keys. Ms. Downs is a wonderful, patient and encouraging teacher that never makes Slade feel insecure or that he can't do it. I feel blessed that God directed us to her to be his piano teacher.  She's the best.

Our son, Patrick, started taking piano lessons with Mrs. Laura Downs when he was just starting to read. We did not know then how that would work out. Through Mrs. Downs' great skills, patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement, Patrick is now on his 6th level. He has always looked forward to learning new songs, and Mrs. Downs has done a marvelous job teaching him, and emphasizing the importance of practice. We are all blessed to have found a caring and great teacher!
